The road to Gigafactory
A new milestone is on the horizon, the birth of De Nora's Italian Gigafactory, an ambitious project to face the challenges of tomorrow.
Energy transition is our goal, we are actively involved in the development of a global transformation path. We are not surfing the energy transition, we are creating the wave!
Working Progress
June 2025 / July 2025 - Cernusco sul Naviglio (Milan)
From concept to form. Materiality, physicality, spaces to immerse yourself in.
The Gigafactory project is becoming increasingly concrete. Walls, ceilings, and large spaces define the physical boundaries of De Nora's future factory in Cernusco sul Naviglio (Milan).
Light floods through the areas that will house production and offices, leaving room for imagination: what will this new space be like?
April 2025 / May 2025 - Cernusco sul Naviglio (Milan)
The Gigafactory continues to grow.
Materials and volumes clearly outline the spaces that will house production lines dedicated to De Nora's businesses. Earth, metal, concrete today. People, voices, work tomorrow.
The project continues to evolve, not only architecturally, but also in terms of design. More news will follow soon...
February 2025 / March 2025 - Cernusco sul Naviglio (Milan)
The construction of the buildings destined to house the Gigafactory, in Cernusco sul Naviglio, is proceeding.
Concrete pillars emerge from the ground; they are destined to support the vaults of the production plant and the offices. Wide spaces and anthropic geometries quickly suggest what the near future will be.
December 2024 / January 2025 - Cernusco sul Naviglio (Milan)
Construction work on De Nora's Italian Gigafactory is advancing fast. The area designated for the building is teeming with vehicles and workers, and the structure is taking shape rapidly.
The groundbreaking ceremony
11 June 2024 - Cernusco sul Naviglio (Milan)
The construction of the Gigafactory building is officially started, an opportunity for the region and for energy transition operators. The Gigafactory will be one of Italy's largest production centres for systems, equipment and components for green hydrogen generation.
De Nora and Snam established an ad hoc company, De Nora Italy Hydrogen Technologies (DNIHT), on 27 May 2022. This project, the Italian Gigafactory, is the answer to the need for green hydrogen production in the Italian, European, and eventually global markets.
The Italian Gigafactory is the vision of sustainable development
and energy independence for the Country. The factory is destinated to become a centre of technological excellence
, ready to provide innovative and high-performance solutions aimed at decarbonisation and promoting circular economy.
Our challenge is actually bigger: revolutionize the Italian energy sector, create jobs, and stimulate local growth.
Today, we have placed the first brick.
